Position Overview:
The Accounting Operations Intern will report to the Director, Accounting Operations. The preferred candidate will be a sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting or finance. The internship is a minimum of 16 hours per week to be scheduled around your classes in the fall and spring semesters, with more hours available during class breaks (e.g. winter/summer).
What you will do and achieve:
- Assist the Accounts Receivable team with the following processes:
- Cash application
- Customer adjustments
- Collect on open receivables
- Update customer’s credit/ordering hold status
- Customer communications through various channels
- Prepare schedules and provide information to support audits
- Perform ad hoc projects and analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls
Who you are:
Education
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance
Experience
- Work experience
- Office experience considered a plus
Key Knowledge & Skills
- Strong excel skills
- Experience with word, power point
Core Competencies
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization and third-parties
Other Desirable Attributes
- Availability to work 16+ hours per week during fall and spring semesters and up to 40 hours per week at other times
Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 10 lbs., Sitting for extended, continuous periods of time, Communicating via telephone
