POSITION: Full-Time Bookkeeper I: Student Accounts Office, One Stop Enrollment Services, Haverhill Campus; 37.5 hours per week; AFSCME Unit I Position. This is a temporary, Grant Funded (CARES) Position through May 11, 2023.

SUMMARY: Student Accounts is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 am - 5 pm, and Wednesday from 9am-6pm. This position will work from 9am-5pm, and may be required to work the later shift on Wednesdays, 10am-6pm, based on the needs of the office, with advance notice.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position will report directly to the Student Accounts Manager and will be required to perform the following:

1. Provide outstanding customer service to students, families, staff and faculty in person, on the phone and by email. 
2. Perform data entry, filing, and processing for Student Accounts including scanning and indexing all forms. 
3. Help students navigate the online payment process, and understand the items on their student account.
4. Review and follow up with students as needed and help perform the daily functions of Student Financial Services.  Performs various administrative tasks associated with assigned projects for Student Financial Services.
5. Assist with refund check reconciliation.
6. Assist with the collections process.
7. Assist with Student Account Communication plan.
8. Provide back up to Student Accounts staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in bookkeeping or accounting work, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

  Substitutions:

I.     A diploma for completion of a program in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level with a major in bookkeeping, accounting or business administration may be substituted for the required experience.*     

II.     An Associate's or higher degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience.*

       *Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong time management skills.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
• Student Account knowledge; all training will be provided.

• Able to work in fast pace team environment and have the ability to handle several assignments simultaneously.
• Respond effectively to questions and prepare materials in response to inquiries.
• Experience working in community college and/or One-Stop Enrollment Services setting preferred.  
• Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population.

SALARY: $1,393.05 - $1,832.75 biweekly ($36,219.30 - $47,651.50 annually). Pay grade 9; An appointment from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at Step I of the range.
