Position Purpose:
The Student Account Specialist supports the Student Financial Services by efficiently processing student account transactions, clerical tasks, reconciliations and by providing comprehensive customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities:                     

• Performs clerical duties such as opening mail, filing and routing forms to the appropriate staff members.
  • Reconciles student health insurance waivers and billing.
  • Reconciles student payment plans and updates Banner. Monitors holds.
  • Disburses financial aid according to federal and institutional policies. Processes payments.
  • Coordinates and process student refunds.
  • Coordinates and sends communication for deposits, insurance, graduation holds and other deadlines.
  • Provides day-to-day student support, troubleshooting concerns and determining appropriate resolutions. Researches and responds to concerns expediently.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Business / Accounting or relevant area.
  • 1-3 years experience in student accounts, accounting or banking
  • Experience with Banner or other similar ERPsystem preferred
  • Excellent customer service
  • Strong working Microsoft Excel experience
  • Ability to multitask in busy office environment
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
