We are seeking a highly creative Account Manager for our Business Partnerships' Core Group. Our Business Partnerships team is responsible for securing sponsorship and funding for editorial initiatives across all of WBUR's platforms, including our local and national broadcasts, podcasts and on-demand audio, digital display and newsletters, live events, and custom content.
You will be smart, ambitious, and naturally curious, have previous experience conceiving of and developing cross-platform partnerships and sponsorships - specifically within the podcast, event, and digital spaces - and a conviction that high-quality, independent journalism is fundamentally important.
As Account Manager, Core, you will be an integral part of the Business Partnerships team and report directly to our Manager, Business Partnerships. You will identify and develop new business opportunities with primary focus on digital properties and custom content and a secondary on other platforms; offer solutions that help clients achieve their
business goals; develop relationships and close business; meet set sales targets. Remote, US candidates will be considered for this role. Our office location is Boston.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Building and executing a sales pipeline plan with short, mid-range and long-term account targets.
Managing and proactively selling to direct clients as well as advertising agencies.
Meeting monthly and annual revenue goals according to sales plan through a deep understanding of WBUR's digital product portfolio and available ad inventory (including streaming audio, podcasts, display, social platforms and custom content programs).
Be able to cross-sell into broadcast and event space when it strategically aligns with a client's goals.
Partnering with digital operations to set proper expectations with customers and super-serve their needs.
Developing presentations to direct clients and agencies designed to sell cross platform programs that align with client goals.
Coordinating with internal stakeholders to identify key initiatives that will expand WBUR's digital sponsorship opportunities and grow our overall revenue.
Required Skills What Youll Need to Succeed:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience
1-3 years plus prior experience in a digital sales role including podcast and/or custom digital content.
Additional Capabilities and Proficiencies:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills.
Existing network of client and agency relationships.
Ability to design, deliver, and execute marketing strategies and presentations.
Prior demonstrated prospecting experience through cold calling, networking, and in-person events.
Proven track record of reaching sales targets and revenue goals.
Proficiency with Google Suite/Microsoft Office.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and activities at once and flexibility to re-prioritize.
