Position Overview:
The U.S. Tax Manager is responsible for the preparation and coordination of federal and multi-state tax returns for the consolidated group, and financial statement reporting. This position also includes participation in federal and state tax audits as well as providing technical support in areas of federal and state income tax, international tax, sales tax, and special projects. The position reports to the U.S. Tax Director and will interact with corporate accounting, independent accountants, and finance staff at the subsidiaries. The role will also interact with tax and finance departments at the French holding company. This position is a hybrid role located in our Boston, MA office.
Responsibilities:
Manage the accurate and timely filing of all federal and state income and franchise tax returns, including extensions and quarterly estimates
Review and analyze multistate apportionment schedules using cost of performance and market-based sourcing methodologies to optimize tax savings and identify potential opportunities and risks
Coordinate responses to federal and state tax audits and notices
Support the preparation of the federal and state tax provision
Facilitate the filing of international information reporting, sales and use tax, property, and annual business license returns
Develop and maintain internal and external tax research to provide advice on federal and state tax compliance issues
Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff
Qualifications:
Five to ten years of experience in public accounting or in a corporate tax department
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA and/or MST preferred
Extensive knowledge of U.S. Federal corporate tax concepts and informed about changes in global tax laws and regulations
Proficiency in Office applications. Experience with SAP and Magnitude consolidation software a plus
Professional manner and strong interpersonal skills required
Ability to lead projects independently, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and analytical and organizational skills are critical
Ability to speak French a plus
