St. John’s Prep is an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for young men in grades 6 through 12. Position Overview and Responsibilities
Assist with the daily general ledger reconciliations and analytical review
Timely monthly financial statement preparation in accordance with with GAAP
Prepare daily transaction data in appropriate General Ledger module
Oversee, maintain and reconcile schedules of assets, liabilities and expenditures
Interact with other faculty and staff across departments
Reconcile/calculate the monthly endowment gift reporting by fund
Assist with annual budget preparation
Managing the external audit by coordinating all required schedules and back up materials as well as the preparation of the external financial statements
Processes and analyze TA applications and a crucial member of the tuition assistance committee/team
Reporting performance metrics, annual metrics and comparable data
Act as a back-up for other members of the Finance team as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate with have a Master’ degree in accounting, license of Certified Public Accountant, and 5+ years of related accounting experience.
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Knowledge of the suite of Blackbaud products (Raiser’s Edge/Financial Edge) a plus.
The candidate will be organized and able to effectively manage several projects simultaneously.
The candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with staff and faculty outside of Finance.
The candidate will adhere to a strict confidentiality in regards to School data, records, and information.
Must be able to reach at and above shoulder height to access higher areas of equipment, etc.
Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, and using computer keyboard, educational tools, play equipment, and perform first aid and CPR.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
